Furnaces heat and circulate warm air in the winter. A furnaces heating ability is measured with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) percentage. A higher AFUE percentage indicates a more efficient furnace.
The basic components of a furnace system are:
Burner – Fuel, natural gas, propane, or oil is delivered to the burner.
Heat exchanger – Transfers the heat, produced by the burner, to the air distribution system.
Ductwork – Carries the heated air throughout the home.
Vent pipe or Flue – Exhausts the byproducts of combustion, such as water vapor and carbon dioxide, to the outside.
Controls & safety devices – including the thermostat(s) and other devices that prevent dangerous situations within your furnace. Some of these devices include gas valves, ignition controls, ignitors, flame sensors, transformers, limit control devices, blower control boards, and flame roll out switches.
We carry the most efficient furnaces on the market. Ask us about our highly efficient models.
Race City Heating & Air - Air Conditioning
A traditional home comfort system has two parts: an indoor unit, such as a furnace or air handler, and an outdoor unit.
Air Conditioning – An air conditioner is the outdoor unit that cools air and sends it to the indoor unit for circulation through your home. Indoor and outdoor units are designed to work together. When the air conditioner is properly matched with a furnace or air handler, you get maximum efficiency and longer system life.
Air Handlers – The air handler is the indoor unit that circulates cool air through your home in the summer and warm air in the winter. The indoor and outdoor units are designed to work together. Air handlers supply conditioned air evenly throughout your home, when used in place of a furnace, with either an air conditioning or heat pump system.
Packaged Heating & Cooling Systems – Packaged cooling and heating systems put efficiency and economy in one self-contained unit. In a packaged system, all equipment is built into an outdoor unit, usually on a concrete slab or some other platform. The “package” that gives it its name provides central air conditioning during the summer and heat in colder months.
Race City Heating & Air proudly specializes in York HVAC products, we can get any brand, it depends on each customer and what system best matches their needs. We provide maintenance, repair, installation and replacement services for all brands of Air Conditioning units.
